Silver Sunrise – Out of Darkness Abstract Art
Available · in the studio, Phoenix
The sunrise that arrives in silver — not gold, not warm, but the first light that is still mostly dark and knows it.
Silver Sunrise (2023) is a quiet revelation — a painting that captures the moment just before light fully breaks, when warmth hovers beneath coolness and day begins with breath, not burst. This 48 x 48 inch acrylic and epoxy painting belongs to the Out of Darkness Collection, where minimal forms open emotional spaces.
The canvas glows with layers of soft silver, pale peach, and diffused amber, arranged in horizontal fields that rise gently across the surface. The sunrise here isn’t loud. It’s suspended. Misty. Hushed. A silver world slowly shifting toward warmth.
I painted Silver Sunrise during early mornings in the studio — those hours when the city was still quiet, and light spilled in with no rush. It became a meditation on transition — not the dramatic kind, but the gentle one: the shift in tone, in clarity, in breath.
The work echoes the tonal subtlety of Agnes Martin, whose bands of pale color pulse with spiritual quiet. Like Martin, I’m drawn to restraint — not as limitation, but as invitation to stillness.
Silver Sunrise doesn’t announce itself. It arrives slowly, like light through a window. It holds that space before awakening — a pause full of possibility.
As part of the Out of Darkness Collection, this painting invites you to feel rather than define — to let the gradient speak and the silence shine.

Lives best in
Living room 5/5
Silver Sunrise rewards a living room because its 3 × 4 ft scale fills a primary wall without overwhelming it, and the slow gradation from black through spectral gray to silver gives conversation a place to rest and return to.
Hotel lobby 5/5
A lobby needs one anchor that reads instantly from distance and holds up on approach, and the silver-to-black vertical emergence does both without color or narrative that would alienate any arriving guest.
